Chinese Ambassador Reaffirms Support for Liberia---- Envoy Says China Will Continue Backing Liberia's Development Agenda and Strategic Partnership

MONROVIA, Liberia – Chinese Ambassador to Liberia Yin Chengwu has reaffirmed China's commitment to supporting Liberia's national development agenda, emphasizing that the longstanding partnership between the two countries will continue to deepen through practical cooperation and mutual respect.

Ambassador Yin made the remarks on July 22 when he attended the 16th Golden Image Award of Liberia, a prestigious event recognizing individuals whose contributions have advanced peace, leadership, and national development.

The ceremony brought together senior government officials, diplomats, lawmakers, members of the private sector, and civil society leaders, including Vice President Jeremiah Kpan Koung and Speaker of the House of Representatives Richard Nagbe Koon.

Addressing the gathering, Ambassador Yin commended the organizers of the Golden Image Award for honoring individuals whose dedication and service continue to inspire positive change across Liberia.

He described the awards as an important platform for recognizing excellence and encouraging young Liberians to pursue leadership, innovation, and national service.

"As a platform recognizing individuals who have made exceptional contributions to peace and development in Liberia, the Golden Image Award will inspire more young Liberians to pursue their dreams and contribute to the country's development," Ambassador Yin said.

China Reaffirms Development Partnership

The Chinese envoy highlighted the strong diplomatic relations between China and Liberia, noting that the two countries have built a friendship founded on mutual respect, equality, and practical cooperation.

He reaffirmed China's commitment to supporting President Joseph Nyuma Boakai's ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development (AAID) through continued investments, technical cooperation, and development assistance.

According to Ambassador Yin, China remains ready to work closely with Liberia to further strengthen the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two nations and promote shared prosperity.

He said ongoing cooperation reflects China's commitment to supporting Liberia's efforts toward sustainable economic growth and national development.
