Chinese Ambassador Highlights CPC's Role in China's Development at RAL Induction

Chinese Ambassador to Liberia, Yin Chengwu, has attributed China's remarkable economic transformation and global influence to the leadership of the Communist Party of China (CPC), while encouraging Liberian journalists to pursue objective and professional reporting that strengthens mutual understanding between Liberia and China.

Speaking Friday, July 10, at the 7th Induction Ceremony of the Reporters Association of Liberia (RAL), Ambassador Yin congratulated the Association's newly elected leadership and praised Liberian journalists for their contribution to promoting media development and reporting on China-Liberia relations.

"I would like to extend warm congratulations to the new leadership of the Reporters Association of Liberia and applaud all journalists who have long devoted themselves to Liberian journalism," Ambassador Yin said. He also thanked members of the Liberian media for what he described as their efforts in presenting China and China-Liberia relations to the Liberian public.

The Chinese diplomat described the Reporters Association of Liberia as one of the country's most influential media organizations, noting that it has played an important role in promoting press freedom and improving professional standards in journalism. He said the theme of the induction ceremony, "Shaping the Future of Liberian Journalism Through Inclusion, Welfare and Reform," reflects the Association's commitment to strengthening the media sector.

Ambassador Yin also acknowledged that several members of the newly elected RAL leadership, including President-elect J.H. Webster Clayeh, Secretary General-elect Blamo N. Toe, and Financial Secretary-elect Cynthia Quinisier, participated in a media seminar in China last year. According to him, many participants returned with a new appreciation of China's development and expressed interest in understanding the factors behind the country's progress.

Responding to those questions, Ambassador Yin said China's achievements are rooted in the leadership of the Communist Party of China, which this year marks its 105th anniversary. He noted that the anniversary was recently commemorated at the Chinese Embassy in Monrovia in the presence of President Joseph Nyuma Boakai and other invited guests.

According to Ambassador Yin, the CPC's development philosophy is built on five key principles: serving the people, maintaining resilience during difficult periods, strengthening internal governance, promoting self-reliance, and embracing international cooperation. He said these principles have enabled China to build the world's second-largest economy, expand education, healthcare and social protection, and lift more than 800 million people out of poverty.

The Ambassador further stated that the CPC has maintained a policy of zero tolerance for corruption through continuous internal reforms while advancing what he described as socialism with Chinese characteristics. He also said China continues to promote global peace, international development, and cooperation through what he referred to as a shared future for humanity.

He encouraged Liberian journalists to continue visiting China and reporting objectively on the country's development. According to him, balanced and factual reporting can help deepen mutual understanding and strengthen the longstanding friendship between the people of Liberia and China.

Ambassador Yin concluded by wishing the newly inducted leadership of the Reporters Association of Liberia success as they begin their tenure, expressing confidence that the Association will continue to contribute to the growth and professionalism of Liberia's media sector.
